Click Chemistry has found widespread application in bioconjugation in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Click reactions are rapid, quantitative, have high efficiency and stereo selectivity, and few or no by-products under mild reaction conditions.

JenKem Technology provides numerous PEG Azide and PEG Alkyne derivatives for traditional click chemistry reaction with copper (I), however this reaction has limited use in biomedical applications due to the catalyst’s cytotoxicity. The reaction of azides with strained alkynes, such as cyclooctynes, known as “Copper-Free Click Chemistry“ does not require a toxic metal catalyst, but most of the cyclooctyne reagents do not have good water solubility, which limits their applications in biomedicine.

JenKem Technology’s PEG DBCO derivatives have good water solubility compared to cyclooctynes, and better biocompatibility and no cytotoxicity as compared to traditional click reagents.
